Mike Mollick V4.5
The design of this was quite simple. It's a very basic and open design. Usability and accessibility are key to this design with its large fonts and simple navigation. This also made it easy to port into almost any color. I opted to make orange, blue, and green the colors to choose from.
Code
This is the first template for my new bloging system. The blogging system itself came from roughly six months of on and off developement. This design however includes some new feats for myself including the theme selector. There were also a number of smaller features throughout the site utilizing hidden menus and ajax like features.

Mike Mollick V3
Deciding to write my own blog script for better flexibility I opted to create a design for my portfolio. This was a very simple design. There were no bells or whistles just a very basic looking portfolio that wasn't short on style.
Code
This was my first true experience with XML. As opposed to using a database I turned to a new face called XML. Which at the time was rather intimidating since I had not worked with flat file systems before. Eventually it became quite a learning expierience and very helpful expeirience for me.

Dimension Studios V2
Spawned from a game entitled Counter-Strike:Source this small online based game design studio was in need for a face lift. It started out with a table based layout with a very stiff layout. With a request to keep the design itself monochromatic and to not stray too far from the original design I wasn't given much room to expand. My main focus with this design was mainly to give it a more fluid and flexable layout. Since this was a gaming site I opted to make it look dirty without going overboard with grunge effects. This was done by effectively allowing some of the background to bleed through "wear" marks across the navigation and main content areas.
Code
This site was a coding nightmare. It effectively had an open backend where anyone could type in the directory and access it without needing to enter any credentials. This was my number one priority for this project. Once the major wholes were fixed on the backend I focused on the front end. With much of the original site using mostly HTML and small PHP scripts here and there it created problems with adding and editing content. By the time I had finished working on the front end I had essentially begun re-coding the entire site. Then turning the the backend I incorporated all the changes I made to the front end and created a secure content management system. This in turn make updating and adding content much more efficient and easier.

Upon purchasing my new domain I hastely set up a temporary site. Following this I started a new design that took some thought and effort. Keeping with my minimalist mind I opted to have a slender linear layout. I also kept the minimalist color scheme keeping it mostly on a grayscale with few colored elements. This helps bring attention to these elements and makes them really standout. This is still one of my favorite designs I've done just for how sleek and simple it is without it being dull and bland.
Code
Coding this wasn't much of an issue. This being almost purely a wordpress port with a PHP script I had used for my portfolio on my previous domain.

Mollick Web Design V2
This was designed for my old domain from which I operated my freelance operations from. It was designed to be catchy without being too busy. I kept it clean and simple without sacrificing style. There were a number of Javascript and Ajax based features of this site including an expanding user menu. This being my first "web 2.0" styled design I also tried to incorporate some of the common "web 2.0" stylings such as stripes and grandients.
Code
This was coded for the wordpress platform. It also included some custom scripting for the portfolio. In the end it was essentially just a wordpress portal with some minor tweaks here and there to get it working.
